Scattering of laser light by polystyrene solutions in benzene

An investigation was made of the scattering of laser light in benzene solutions of polystyrene. The angular distribution of the scattering intensity was determined in the range 30–150° for various concentrations of the solutions. The scattering measurements were used to determine the molecular weight of the solution and the virial coefficient A₂.
