Abstract:
Analytic and numerical investigations are reported of the self-interaction of a randomly modulated light pulse subject to quadratic and cubic dispersion. An analysis is made of the influence of the third-order dispersion on the dynamics of transformation of such characteristics of a pulse as the time envelope of the intensity, duration, shift of the energy center, frequency spectrum, coherence time, dispersion of intensity fluctuations, and mode composition of the radiation. A comparison is made of the results obtained by analytic and numerical methods.
