Light-induced drift of CH3Br molecules

Abstract: A light-induced drift of CH3Br molecules was observed when the ν6 mode was vibrationally excited by CO2 laser radiation. Measurements of the drift were made using the light-induced splitting of the isotopic modifications of CH379Br and CH381Br molecules. It was found that the vibrational excitation of CH3Br molecules increases their transport collision frequencies by ~ 1%.
