Set of stable pulsed single-frequency lasers for high resolution nonlinear spectroscopy

M. A. Kharchenko, V. V. Shuvalov

Abstract: Details are given of the spectral, energy, and temporal parameters of stable pulsed single-frequency lasers, utilizing yttrium aluminum garnet and organic dye solutions, which were developed for high-resolution nonlinear spectroscopy of condensed media. The results obtained, namely a probability of single-frequency lasing of higher than 99% and a variance of the output energy and peak power of less than 0.5% for the garnet laser, and a laser emission spectral line width of 5–10 MHz with a tuning range of more than 300 cm– 1 for the dye lasers, prove that similar relatively simple designs can be used efficiently.
