Abstract:
An investigation was made of the spectral and energy characteristics of stimulated and spontaneous radiation emitted by an Ar + N2 mixture excited by an electron beam. The maximum specific output power (~70 kW/cm3) was obtained when the pressure in an Ar:N2 = 10:1 mixture was about 8 atm. The efficiency of conversion of the electron-beam energy into the stimulated radiation energy at λ = 357.7 nm wavelength reached up to ~3%.
