Erbium-doped CaF₂ crystal laser operating at room temperatature

Abstract: Stimulated emission from a CaF₂:Er³⁺ crystal was obtained at room temperature under free-oscillation and Q-switched conditions. The stimulated emission spectrum was investigated. The light emitted from this crystal was used to excite a CdSe optical parametric oscillator.
