Abstract:
An analysis is made of the kinetics of physical processes in an ozone-oxygen mixture exposed to ultraviolet radiation. It is concluded that an excited-oxygen generator can be developed having a relatively high efficiency and ensuring a high O2(a1Δg) content. This can be used to obtain lasing due to the 52P1/2→52P3/2 spin-orbit transition in an iodine atom (λ = 1315 nm) by energy transfer from O2(a1Δg).
