Large-aperture electrooptic switches with cylindrical electrodes

An investigation was made of standardized electrooptic Pockels switches with apertures 2–6 cm in diameter and cylindrical ring electrodes attached to DKDP crystals. The transmission nonuniformity for all types of switches did not exceed 8% when the ratio of the length of the crystal to its diameter ranged from 0.8 to 2.0 and the operation time was 1.3–5.5 ns.
