Abstract:
Phase self-conjugation based on a discrimination mechanism is shown to be possible in the case of transient stimulated backscattering in photorefractive crystals in which shifted diffraction gratings are formed as a result of diffusion. Experimental results are reported demonstrating that phase self-conjugation of cw He–Cd laser radiation in a lithium niobate crystal is possible with a reflection coefficient of ~ 40% and a conjugation quality of ~ 70%.
