Abstract: Interferometric techniques were used to measure spatial distributions of electrons. A one-dimensional model of an electric-discharge XeCl excimer laser is described. Measured and calculated space–time distributions of electron densities are compared. It is found that the spatial distributions of excited particles and electrons may differ substantially.
