Abstract:
An analysis is made of the influence of resonance excitation of the rotational levels of the nitrogen molecule on the energy balance in electrical discharges in nitrogen-rich CO, CO2, and He mixtures. An analysis is made of the influence of the excitation of the rotational degrees of freedom of nitrogen on the parameters of amplification in a CO2–M2–He plasma. It is shown that the resonance excitation of the rotational levels of nitrogen has to be allowed for in the case of discharges in nitrogen-rich mixtures characterized by a low value of the ratio E/N ≤ 1×10–16V·cm2.
