Abstract:
The photosensitivity of a fibre doped with GeO2 with a molar concentration of 97% is studied in the near-UV region. It is found that the refractive index induced in this fibre exposed to low-intensity (150 W cm2) radiation at wavelengths of 305.5 and 333.6 nm achieves a high value (~1.5×103 ). It is shown that the photosensitivity increases with decreasing the irradiation wavelength.
