Abstract:
An autonomous cw chemical HF–HBr laser emitting simultaneously at ~2.7 μm (HF molecules) and ~4.2 μm (HBr molecules) is studied numerically by using complete Navier–Stokes equations. It is shown that the output power of the HBr laser per unit area of the nozzle array can achieve ~20 W cm-2 for the laser region length ~20 cm. The relation between the radiation intensities emitted by HF and HBr molecules is controlled by diluting the secondary fuel by bromine.
