Abstract:
A calculation was made of the intensity of stimulated emission from a helium-neon laser emitting simultaneously due to two coupled 3s2–2p4 (λ = 0.63 3.39 ì) and 3s2–3p4 (λ = 3.39 ì) transitions. It was found that, under certain conditions, the emission of ëi = 3.39 3.39 ì could alter considerably (in particular, could reduce) the sensitivity of the intensity of visible radiation to discharge-current fluctuations. The theoretical conclusions were confirmed experimentally at low frequenices of the fluctuations of the current density.
