Compact dye laser with a narrow continuously tunable emission line

A description is given of an organic dye laser emitting one longitudinal mode ~0.3 nm wide. This laser is continuously tunable within the gain band of the active substance and the tuning can be performed without additional selective elements. The dye solution is in contact with the resonator mirrors.
