Comparison of the absolute frequencies of He–Ne/CH4 lasers with a transportable M101 laser

Abstract: The correctness of the determination of the laser frequencies recommended for reproduction of the unit of length was checked by absolute and relative comparisons of the frequencies with the aid of an M101 laser at the All-Russia Scientific-Research Institute of Physicotechnical and Radio Engineering Measurements. The frequency of this laser was measured with a laser chain at this Institute and also with apparatus from other countries. The results of the comparison confirmed the correctness of the recommended reference frequencies of the lasers.
