Abstract: We have demonstrated the first superfluorescent fibre source emitting in the 1.34 μm range. In a double-pass configuration with an amplifier, its output power is 48 mW under pumping at λ = 1240 nm. Its emission spectrum has a nearly Gaussian shape, with a full width at half maximum of 26 nm at the highest pump power.

Keywords: bismuth, optical fibre, superfluorescent fibre source.
