Abstract:
We report results of fabricating a 1064-nm tunable single-frequency semiconductor laser module with an external cavity based on a fibre Bragg grating written in a single-mode polarisation-maintaining optical fibre. Methods for discrete and smooth tuning of the radiation wavelength are considered. The laser module is capable of generating dynamically stable single-frequency radiation with a side-mode suppression of more than 40 dB, a generation line width of 100–500 kHz, and an output optical power of over 60 mW. The wavelength tuning of the laser module is 1.2 nm.
