Algorithm for determining the parameters of Lorentzian resonance curves

Abstract: We present a simple and reliable approach to determining the initial parameters of the problem of approximating the Lorentzian resonance curve. The proposed algorithm is tested on experimental data and demonstrates its applicability. The results of iterative approximation with the initial parameters obtained using the proposed algorithm are compared with the results of approximation using the well-known Circle Fit algorithm. The approach under consideration makes it possible to reduce the requirements for the signal-to-noise ratio without losing the possibility of reliable approximation.
