Basic trends in the development of diode-pumped solid-state lasers

Abstract: Solid-state lasers of a new generation – diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSLs) are considered. The outlook for their further development is analysed. It is shown that in fact all the parameters of DPSLs are superior to those of flashlamp-pumped lasers.
