Abstract: Nonlinear refraction, nonlinear absorption, and optical limitation are studied in Bi₁₂SiO₂₀ (BSO) and Bi₁₂GeO₂₀(BGO) crystals at the 532-nm emission wavelength of a picosecond Nd : YAG laser.
