Wave competition and temporal instabilities at the threshold for laser excitation of bulk anisotropy gratings in a nematic liquid crystal: numerical simulation and comparison with experiment
Abstract:
The onset of temporally unstable director-reorientation regimes in a nematic liquid crystal has been studied by numerical simulation for the case in which two waves of orthogonal (linear) polarizations are propagating through a crystal in an optical field and a (quasistatic) magnetic field. The results are compared with experimental data.
