Abstract: The x-ray emission spectrum of a magnesium plasma produced by a picosecond laser has been studied. Dielectronic satellites of the resonance line of the He-like Mg XI ion have been identified for the first time. These satellites result from radiative transitions from 1s2l2l' 3l'' autoionizing levels of the Be-like Mg IX ion.
