Abstract:
Stimulated emission of collective modes in two optically coupled lasers was investigated experimentally and numerically. A mathematical model was used to describe both single-frequency and two-frequency lasing regimes of the coupled system and a good agreement with the experimental data was obtained. The spectral, phase, and energy characteristics of the radiation emitted by the lasers were analyzed for different parameters of the coupling channel. A number of practical conclusions were drawn, which may be useful in designing a phased laser array.
