Control of laser output characteristics C³-laser linewidth

Abstract: We investigate the linewidth of an AlGaAs/GaAs C³ injection laser. The linewidth is a strong function of the injection currents of the laser section and the modulating section and also the size of the gap separating the two. At optimum tuning the linewidth is smaller than that of a corresponding plane-resonator laser.
