Composite material based on a polymer and a porous glass for fabricating laser components

Abstract: The resistance to laser damage and the microhardness of a composite material based on a polymer and a porous glass have been studied. The microhardness is good, and the damage resistance high. The characteristics of a passive Q switch fabricated from this material are reported.
