Abstract:
Acoustooptic control of the emission parameters and attainment of active mode locking in a flashlamp-pumped Al2O3:Ti3+ laser are reported for the first time. It is shown that efficient and precise emission wavelength tuning is possible in the range 690–910 nm if an acoustooptic deflector is used. In the case of active mode locking the duration of the output pulses tunable in the range 700–900 nm is less than 1 ns.
