Abstract:
A numerical investigation is reported of the dynamics of a two-mode laser with a homogeneously broadened emission line and a periodically modulated pump power. Determination is reported of a range of parameters in which different complex pulsations of the laser radiation intensity are observed: these pulsations include periodic (at subharmonics of the pump modulation frequency) and chaotic. A complex bifurcation structure is predicted for the dependence of the nature of the radiation intensity pulsations on the pump modulation frequency, characterized by alternation of periodic and chaotic regimes.
