Characteristics of stimulated Brillouin scattering in plate-like active elements

Abstract: It was found that zigzag propagation of amplified radiation in plate-like active elements could cause a substantial reduction in the STBS threshold. It was shown that the establishment of a temperature gradient inside the active element could promote suppression of stimulated Brillouin scattering.
