Abstract:
An analysis was made of a highly efficient source of coherent radiation utilizing an Al2O3:Ti3+ crystal laser and a nonlinear LiIO3 crystal, emitting in the 0.34–2.3 μm spectral range. It incorporated a specially developed Al2O3:Ti3+-crystal laser bichromator in which self-synchronization of both channels was achieved. Particular attention was paid to the kinetic characteristics of the Al2O3:Ti3+ crystal laser. It was shown that, in principle, the spectral range could be extended to the ultraviolet and the infrared.
