Amplitude and frequency characteristics of two-mode ring lasers with a controlled phase anisotropy

Abstract: A theoretical investigation is made of the amplitude-frequency characteristics of two-mode ring lasers with a controlled phase anisotropy in a magnetic field of any direction and for arbitrary wave polarization vectors. It is shown that continuous variation of the mode spacing in a wide range can result in variation of the intensities and in additional shifts of the frequency of the beats between oscillations in unidirectional and counterpropagating waves in such lasers.
