Abstract:
An investigation is made of a singly resonant optical parametric oscillator pumped by monochromatic and multi-mode radiation. An analysis is made of the parameters of the regions of stable stimulated emission, in which 100%-efficient conversion to parametric frequencies is possible. Saturation effects and the pump pulse shape are allowed for in this analysis. It is shown that the threshold of a singly resonant optical parametric oscillator is independent of the mode structure of the spectrum of regular pump radiation and is governed by its average intensity.
