Abstract:
Radiative transitions from states located above the 4F3/2 metastable state were observed in a γ-La2S3:Nd3+ semiconductor single crystal. An analysis of the temperature dependences of the radiation spectra using timeresolution spectroscopy, an analysis of the excited-state decay curves, and a comparison of the emission and absorption spectra were used to identify the intermultiplet transitions observed in the emission spectrum. It was found that neodymium ions could be excited in the fundamental absorption band of the host.
