Abstract:
A proposal is made for a singlet oxygen generator in which an alkali solution of hydrogen peroxide is atomized in a stream of gaseous chlorine. A model is developed and used to study the influence of the parameters of a gas-liquid mixture on the characteristics of the generator. It is shown that the oxygen pressure at the exit from the generator can be up to 6 kPa and the relative concentration of O2(1Δ) may exceed 50%. The possibility of technical implementation of the proposed generator is discussed.
