Abstract:
Pairs of dyes were selected and the optimal excitation conditions were determined for a two-stage laser in which a dye-solution converter laser was pumped by radiation from a flashlamp-driven microsecond dye laser. The spectral range 495–835 nm was covered by laser pulses with an energy in excess of 1 J, of 1 μs duration, and of 1 mrad divergence. The brightness of the radiation emitted from the converter laser was 140–700 times higher than the brightness of the pump laser radiation.
