Abstract:
It is shown that dye laser pump systems can have a lasing efficiency of ~ 1% when the excitation energy is up to 10 kJ. The parameters of the proposed pump systems, the dimensions of the discharge gaps in the coaxial flashlamps, and the laser power characteristics are presented. An output energy of 40 J in a 6 μs pulse was obtained from an alcohol solution of rhodamine 6G when the pump energy was 6 μs.
