Abstract:
A method and software were developed for self-consistent calculation of the energy parameters of solid-state lasers of arbitrary geometry pumped optically by sources with various metal and nonmetal gas fillings. Calculations were made for the free-running regime. It was found that the gain is distributed inhomogeneously over the cross section of the active element. Laser radiation transfer was modeled in threedimensions by a discrete-ray method. Numerical investigations carried out with the aim of testing the mathematical model gave results in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data.
