Applications of a carbon monoxide laser in surgery

An investigation was made of potential applications of a carbon monoxide laser (λ=5–6 μ) in surgery. It was established that the radiation emitted by this laser had better cutting and coagulating properties than CO₂ laser radiation currently used widely in medicine.
