Numerical modeling of an electron-beam-pumped copper vapor laser. I. Distribution function of electron energies in the laser plasma

A method is proposed for numerical calculation of the characteristics of a copper vapor laser pumped by an electron beam. The main features of the laser kinetics are studied. The scaling relationships are established for the laser parameters and these indicate ways of increasing the specific output energy.
