Feasibility of constructing a high-pressure NH3 laser

A theoretical model of a high-pressure NH₃ laser is considered. A solution of the rate equations is found to be in good agreement with the experimental results. It is shown that further improvements in the output characteristics of the ammonia laser will require the use of three-component NH₃–N₂–He mixtures.
