Abstract:
The time structure of soft x-ray radiation was determined and the space-time evolution of a plasma zone, emitting at the frequency of the second harmonic of heating laser radiation, was studied using the 24-channel Sokol Nd-laser facility in experiments on compression of SiO2 shell targets by laser radiation of (0.5–3.5) × 1014 W/cm2 power density. The experimental data obtained for targets with different values of the aspect ratio were compared with the results of numerical calculations carried out using the Zarya program.
