Laser with an acoustooptic mirror in its resonator

P. P. Golokoz, Yu. L. Oboznenko, I. P. Pugach

Abstract: An investigation was made of the spectral characteristics of a laser with a traveling-wave Bragg acoustooptic cell located in the resonator in such a way that the light path was closed for the first diffraction maximum. Conditions were formulated for lasing with the spectral composition of the output radiation selected in the form of bands of frequencies the width of which was governed by the fill factor of the resonator and by the frequency of ultrasound. An experimental investigation at the wavelength of 3.39μ confirmed these calculations.
