Kinetics of dynamic self-diffraction of light beams in bulk media with local response

A study is made of the kinetics of transformation of the energy of light beams in dynamic self-diffraction in media with a local response. It is shown that quasisteady solutions can be obtained for large phase advances. The results of numerical and analytic calculations are compared with the available experimental data.
