Abstract:
Theoretical calculations are made of the population inversion and gain for laser pumping of a combination vibrational band (for example, pumping of CO2 gas with CO2 laser radiation) and of a weak absorption line due to a vibrational overtone. Transient solutions are obtained. These solutions can be used to follow the kinetics of the population changes under different laser pumping conditions. Possible pairs of a pumping laser and a molecular gas are suggested.
