Abstract:
A method was developed for the generation of short (down to 0.6 ns) light pulses in a dye laser pumped by a Cu laser at a high repetition frequency. When rhodamine 6G was used as the dye, the energy of a subnanosecond pulse was ~3 μJ for a pump energy of 250 μJ. The results demonstrated that short light pulses could be generated if the dye lasing was suppressed by the yellow line of the Cu laser.
