Abstract:
The chemical vapor deposition method was used in the fabrication of large-aperture graded fiber waveguides with a core made of SiO2·P2O5·GeO2. The parameters of the waveguides were as follows: the total losses at λ = 0.85 μ ~6 dB/km; the numerical aperture ~0.4; the dispersion of a pulse ~2.5 nsec/km. The Rayleigh scattering coefficient was 2.5 db·km–1·μ–4. Measurements were made of the material dispersion of the cores of these waveguides.
