Abstract:
An experimental study was made of the mode-locking regime in a cw YAG:Nd3+ laser. It was found that an increase of the detuning between the modulation frequency of the phase and the frequency of intermode beats altered the structure of ultrashort pulses. A study of an activepassive mode-locking method revealed the existence of two symmetrically located regions of detuning of the modulation frequency within which stable generation of ultrashort pulses free of structure was possible.
