Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of the dispersion of the efficiency of the acoustooptic interaction in LiNbO3:Ti waveguides in the near infrared range. It was found that an increase in the wavelength of light λ0 from 633 to 779 nm reduced the diffraction efficiency by a factor of 1.5–1.7 and a further increase to λ0 = 1152 nm reduced the efficiency by a factor of 5–6. It was found that the diffusion of Ti in lithium niobate improved the acoustooptic characteristics of a surface waveguide layer by at least 25%.
