Aspects of the laser cutting of drill blanks

Laser cutting of circular rod blanks made of R6M5 and 45 steels was investigated experimentally. A study was made of how the time needed to cut the blanks was affected by their angular velocity and diameter, and by the activating gas flow rate. Production laser cutting regimes for rod drill blanks were determined.
