A simple method of determining the profiles of diffused waveguides

A modified method is proposed for the piecewise-linear approximation of the refractive index profile of a diffused waveguide. Dispersion parameters and graphs are introduced to determine the waveguide profile from measured values of the effective refractive index of the modes.
